Return and Refund Policy
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for software development and consulting services engaged through vengalath.com. The site does not sell physical goods, so there is nothing to ship or return; this policy is about paid work.
The engagement agreement comes first
Every paid engagement is governed by a written agreement, statement of work, or quote agreed between us before work begins. That document is the primary source of truth for scope, fees, milestones, and payment and refund terms. Where it differs from this page, the engagement agreement prevails.
Deposits and milestones
Work usually begins after an advance or deposit is paid, and larger projects are billed against agreed milestones. Deposits secure my time and the start of work, and amounts already invoiced for completed milestones are non-refundable.
Cancellation
Either of us may end an engagement in line with the notice terms in the engagement agreement. On cancellation:
- you are billed for all work completed and any non-cancellable costs incurred up to the cancellation date; and
- any completed deliverables and work product are handed over once outstanding invoices are settled.
Refund eligibility
- Refundable: the portion of any advance that covers work not yet performed at the point of cancellation.
- Not refundable: work already completed or delivered, time already spent, and third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (such as licences, hosting, or store fees).
- Anything outside the above is considered case by case, in good faith.
How to request a refund
Email me at [email protected] with your engagement reference and the reason for the request. I aim to respond within 7 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, and the time to appear depends on your payment provider.
Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact me first so we can sort it out. Raising a chargeback without contacting me may pause active work until the matter is resolved.
